Advertising Disclosure
Renovation Cost Lab keeps its calculators and guides free to use. To support that work, the Site may display advertising. This page explains how advertising is handled and the limits we place on it so that ads never get in the way of the tools or your safety.
Ads are disabled by default
Advertising is disabled by default. No ads are shown unless and until the site owner explicitly activates them. If and when advertising is enabled, it may be served through a network such as Google AdSense.
Ads are clearly labeled
When advertising is active, ad units are clearly identified as advertising (for example, labeled “Advertisement” or “Ads”) so you can always tell the difference between paid placements and our own content.
Where ads will never appear
We will not let advertising interfere with the usefulness or safety of the tools. Ads are never placed:
- Inside calculator controls, input fields, or sliders.
- On or over result buttons, “calculate” actions, or output figures.
- Over, beneath, or in a way that obscures safety warnings or disclaimers.
- In any position designed to trick you into clicking an ad instead of using the tool.
Advertising does not influence our content
Advertising is separate from our editorial and pricing work. The presence of ads does not change our formulas, our estimates, or the way we label prices. See our editorial policy and pricing methodology for how that content is produced.
Affiliate relationships
The Site currently has no affiliate relationships and earns no commissions from product or contractor referrals. If that ever changes — for example, if we add affiliate links — we will disclose those relationships clearly and in advance. We will never present an affiliate link as a neutral recommendation.
Your privacy
If advertising is enabled, ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies subject to applicable consent requirements. For details, see our privacy policy.
