Important: Epoxy and polyaspartic release solvent fumes during application — ventilate the space and wear appropriate respiratory protection. Professional-grade systems require a proper surface profile (usually diamond grinding). Always follow the manufacturer instructions.
How We Calculated This
- Floor area = length (ft) × width (ft).
- Kits needed = ceil(area × coats ÷ coverage per kit), where coverage is per the chosen resin system.
- Materials = kits × kit unit price.
- Surface prep = area × prep rate (etch or grind), added to Other.
- Labor = area × labor rate × (1 + 0.3 × (coats − 1)) — coats add sub-linear labor on top of the material multiplier.
- Crack repair = user allowance (prefilled from floor condition), added to Other.
- Total = materials + surface prep + labor + crack repair + contingency. Cost per sq ft = total ÷ area.
Assumptions
- All prices are editable planning assumptions, not verified national averages.
- Epoxy and polyaspartic are different resin systems with different coverage and durability.
- Concrete must be fully cured and dry before coating.
What's excluded
- Moisture vapor barrier remediation
- Major slab repair or leveling
- Floor drain work
